Inspired Version (1:1)
The vision of Obadiah: Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom: We have heard a rumor from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen. Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
Hebrew (1:1)
חֲז֖וֹן ([This is] the vision) עֹֽבַדְיָ֑ה (of Obadiah): כֹּֽה־ (This is what) אָמַר֩ (says) אֲדֹנָ֨י (the Lord) יְהוִ֜ה (GOD) לֶאֱד֗וֹם (about Edom)— שְׁמוּעָ֨ה (a message) שָׁמַ֜עְנוּ (We have heard) מֵאֵ֤ת (. . .) יְהוָה֙ (from the LORD); וְצִיר֙ (an envoy) בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם (among the nations) שֻׁלָּ֔ח (has been sent) ק֛וּמוּ ([to say,] “Rise up), וְנָק֥וּמָה (and let us go) עָלֶיהָ (against her)!”— לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ (to battle)

Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen; thou art greatly despised.

הִנֵּ֥ה (Behold), קָטֹ֛ן (small) נְתַתִּ֖יךָ (I will make you) בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם (among the nations); בָּז֥וּי (despised). אַתָּ֖ה (you) מְאֹֽד׃ (will be deeply)

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

זְד֤וֹן (The pride) לִבְּךָ֙ (of your heart) הִשִּׁיאֶ֔ךָ (has deceived you), שֹׁכְנִ֥י (O dwellers) בְחַגְוֵי־ (in the clefts) סֶּ֖לַע (of the rocks) מְר֣וֹם (the heights), שִׁבְתּ֑וֹ (whose habitation is) אֹמֵ֣ר (who say) בְּלִבּ֔וֹ (in your heart), מִ֥י (Who) יוֹרִדֵ֖נִי (can bring me down) אָֽרֶץ׃ (to the ground)?

If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night--how art thou cut off!--would they not have stolen till they had enough? If the grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

אִם־ (If) גַּנָּבִ֤ים (thieves) בָּאֽוּ־ (came) לְךָ֙ (to you), אִם־ (if) שׁ֣וֹדְדֵי (robbers) לַ֔יְלָה (by night)— אֵ֣יךְ (oh, how) נִדְמֵ֔יתָה (you will be ruined)— הֲל֥וֹא (would they not) יִגְנְב֖וּ (steal) דַּיָּ֑ם ([only] what they wanted)? אִם־ (If) בֹּֽצְרִים֙ (grape gatherers) בָּ֣אוּ (came) לָ֔ךְ (to you), הֲל֖וֹא (would they not) יַשְׁאִ֥ירוּ (leave) עֹלֵלֽוֹת׃ ([some] gleanings)?

All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border; the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee; there is none understanding in him.

עַֽד־ (you to) הַגְּב֣וּל (the border); שִׁלְּח֗וּךָ (will drive) כֹּ֚ל (All) אַנְשֵׁ֣י (the men) בְרִיתֶ֔ךָ (allied with you) הִשִּׁיא֛וּךָ (will deceive) יָכְל֥וּ (and overpower) לְךָ֖ (you). אַנְשֵׁ֣י (the men) שְׁלֹמֶ֑ךָ (at peace with you) לַחְמְךָ֗ ([Those who eat] your bread) יָשִׂ֤ימוּ (will set) מָזוֹר֙ (a trap) תַּחְתֶּ֔יךָ (for you) אֵ֥ין (without your) תְּבוּנָ֖ה (awareness) בּֽוֹ׃ (of it).

מֵחֲמַ֛ס (Because of the violence) אָחִ֥יךָ (against your brother) יַעֲקֹ֖ב (Jacob), תְּכַסְּךָ֣ (you will be covered) בוּשָׁ֑ה (with shame) וְנִכְרַ֖תָּ (and cut off) לְעוֹלָֽם׃ (forever).

In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

בְּיוֹם֙ (On the day) עֲמָֽדְךָ֣ (you stood) מִנֶּ֔גֶד (aloof) בְּי֛וֹם (while) שְׁב֥וֹת (carried off) זָרִ֖ים (strangers) חֵיל֑וֹ (his wealth) וְנָכְרִ֞ים (and foreigners) בָּ֣אוּ (entered) שַׁעֲרוֹ (his gate) וְעַל־ (for) יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ (Jerusalem), יַדּ֣וּ (and cast) גוֹרָ֔ל (lots) גַּם־ (. . .) אַתָּ֖ה (you) כְּאַחַ֥ד (were just like one) מֵהֶֽם׃ (of them).

And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
